HOST FAMILY PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Our Host Family Program aims to connect local cycling enthusiasts with visiting riders during the Maverick Criterium in Norman, Oklahoma. By opening your home, you provide athletes with a comfortable and supportive environment, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the race experience for all.

EXPECTATIONS OF HOST FAMILIES

As a host, you are expected to:

Provide a Comfortable Sleeping Space
Offer a bed, air mattress, or couch for each rider.

Grant Access to Bathroom and Shower Facilities
Ensure riders have clean and private facilities.

Maintain Open Communication

Discuss house rules, schedules, and any preferences or restrictions beforehand.

Offer Use of Washer and Dryer
Cycling gear needs frequent washing; access to laundry facilities is appreciated.

Provide Secure Bike Storage
Ensure a safe area for bicycles, such as a garage or locked room.

Allow Use of Kitchen and Refrigerator

Riders may prepare their own meals; provide space for their food.

*Hosts are not expected to provide meals, transportation, or cleaning services.

EXPECTATIONS OF Riders

As a rider, you are expected to:

Respect the Host's Home

Treat the space with care and consideration.

Maintain Cleanliness

Clean up after themselves, especially in shared spaces like the kitchen and bathroom.

Communicate Clearly

Inform hosts of arrival times, race schedules, and any changes promptly.

Be Considerate of House Rules

Adhere to any guidelines set by the host regarding noise, guests, and other household matters.

Express Gratitude

A thank-you note or small token of appreciation is encouraged.
